Land Division

Land Division is responsible for managing State-owned lands. In addition, the office serves as a repository for documents relating to land dating back to the Great Mahele of 1848. Although they do not have maps in their collection (refer to the Land Survey Office for maps) they do have Land Commission Award books, land patent grants, native and foreign testimony, boundary descriptions, royal patents, state land use descriptions, and a list of state lands by tax map key.

Prior to visiting users should call ahead. This allows the office not only locate the document from their files, but to check if the item has been redacted by the legislature and is viewable by the public.

Users can make copies on-site which cost 50 cents per page for page sizes up to 8 1/2" x 14". Larger prints cost $1.00 per page.
