Search strategies:

  • Try an "Advanced Search"
    • Add keywords
    • Search in specific fields (e.g. Title, Author, Subject)
    • Filter results to Publication Date or Material Type
  • Select "Peer-reviewed Journals" and "Available Online" to narrow results to full-text scholarly articles available to you now

Google Scholar

Searching in Google Scholar via UH Mānoa Library

To set up Google Scholar to link to UH Manoa subscriptions, click on Settings in the upper right corner of the Google Scholar search page. Go to Library Links and search for Hawaii. Select University of Hawaii at Manoa - Full Text @ UH Manoa and save your preferences. Make sure you're signed in to your Google account to remember your preferences on future visits.

Search strategies:

  • Try an "Advanced Search" to narrow your results by Title, Author, Publisher, and Date
  • The "Cited By" feature brings up a list of other articles that cite a particular source
  • The "Related Articles" feature brings up a list of other related articles
