Government Documents - Smithsonian Institution: National Air and Space Museum

This guide provides an overview of the publications of the Smithsonian Institution and its subsidiary agencies, along with other non-governmental organizations whose publications were formerly issued as government publications.

About the agency

The National Air Museum was established in 1946 at the Smithsonian Institution. In 1966 the name was changed to National Air and Space Museum. The musuem's collection dates back to 1876, although collection-building did not begin in earnest until 1889.
