Books are catalogued using Library of Congress subject headings to make it possible for you to locate relevant information in one place. Searching on an LC Subject Heading can bring together books that may have very different call numbers.

WorldCat a catalog of the world's library catalogs through OCLC. This is a great database to confirm bibliographic information and to find books in your field. It is also an effective route to requesting an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) by finding the book in WorldCat then clicking on the ILL link in the Worldcat record.
