Political Science 301 - Hawaiʻi Politics: Books

Accessing Library Materials

To borrow a book, it must not be available in HathiTrust. If it is not available in HathiTrust, click the title, which will open up the OneSearch record. Click the "Sign In" link and log in with your UH username and password. Click the "Request Specific Copy" and select the copy in Hamilton or Hawaiian Collection that can be borrowed (avoid copy that says Reference or Library Use Only). Wait for an email message that the book is available to be picked up on the first floor. It will be placed on tables across from the circulation desk, organized by your name. The book will already be checked out to you.

If a book is listed as "access through HathiTrust", it cannot be borrowed from any UH library. You'll need to use the digital copy through HathiTrust.

Full text access through HathiTrust means you will see the full book. Temporary access through HathiTrust means you can search for topics and see results that relate to your topic. You cannot see the full book.

If you visit Hamilton Library, you must show your UH ID to gain entry to the library. You must also wear a face mask.

If you have any questions, please contact me directly at jodie@hawaii.edu. I'm happy to help.
