As of Nov. 23, 2011, UHM Library and the University of the Ryukyus Library entered a special agreement to free receprocated ILL/DD transactions for items only available from each library holdings (borrowable materials only). This pilot project will end and be reviewed after five years.

 

Steps to Follow

If a book that you are looking for is not held by libraries in North America (including UH), you can request to get one from Japan via UHM Interlibrary Loan Services (ILL) UHM affiliates Only. UH is a member of the US-Japan International Interlibrary Loan project. Follow the instruction below by clicking each step and fill out UHM ILL/DD form.

How to request to the National Diet Library

This is a training site to show you how to request copy services and ILL to the National Diet Library (NDL). The video is in Japanese with English subtitles. The UHM Library can request for you if you are affiliated with the UHM. If you need to request as an individual researcher, you need to register and obtain your ID & Password from NDL first.
