Check for more books in the library by searching here. The box below is set up to do a "Subject Browse," which is in general the most targeted search you can do. For a broader search, go to the library's Voyager catalog and use a "keyword anywhere" search for strings of words like "World War II Pacific" or "World War II Hawaii" (without quotation marks).
Suggested subject browsing searches (copy and paste into box above):
World War, 1939-1945 -- Pacific Area
World War, 1939-1945 -- COUNTRY NAME
(e.g. World War, 1939-1945 -- Solomon Islands)
World War, 1939-1945 -- campaigns -- COUNTRY NAME
(e.g. World War, 1939-1945 -- campaigns -- Papua New Guinea)
[tip: when looking at your list of subject heading search results, keep an eye out for headings that end in "sources," as these indicate primary source materials. For instance, World War, 1939-1945--Pacific Area--Sources.]
Only a relatively small amount of the Hawaiian & Pacific Collections' overall manuscript and photograph holdings have been digitized and made available online. The majority is only available for viewing in the library (for an example of a library record for a WWII related manuscript collection, click here). It is possible to browse through all of the Voyager catalog's records for Hawaiʻi and Pacific manuscript and photograph collections by conducting a "call number" search, using the terms below. The results will show all manuscript or photograph collections held in the Collections, and not only those specific to the subject of war in the Pacific.
