American Studies 318/Ethnic Studies 318 - Asian America: Books & Dissertations

Accessing Library Materials

Search OneSearch for books, journal articles, and other items. If you find a book you want to access or check out, click the "Sign In" link and log in with your UH username and password. Click the "Request Specific Copy" and select the copy in the Hawaiian Collection that can be borrowed (avoid copy that says Reference or Library Use Only) or the Hamilton copy. Wait for an email message that the book is available to be picked up at the Hawaiian & Pacific Collections circulation counter. If there is only one copy of the item in the Hawaiian Collection, it cannot be borrowed but you can use the item in the reading room.

If you have any questions, please contact me directly at jodie@hawaii.edu. I'm happy to help.

Books of Interest

When searching for books in Voyager, pay attention to the subject headings listed in the full record, which can lead you to additional books or videos. Also pay attention to the CAMPUS and LOCATION as well as the Call Number since the library catalog will show you books held at ALL UH campus libraries. You can get books sent from other campuses to Manoa (in the full record, click the "Get This Item" link at the top right, login with your UH username & password and click the "Transfer" link, basically send the book here to Manoa for you to use) or you can visit other UH libraries and get the items directly.
