OneSearch's Everything searches the Hawaiian Collection's holdings for articles and theses/dissertations that are found in third-party electronic databases. To find cultural and archaeological studies and reports, click the link for an advanced search, select "UHM Library" as the search scope, and use one of the search templates below. Once you have a results list, filter results by "Held by Library."
OneSearchʻs Institutional Repository search will help you find digitized materials (theses, reports, articles, maps, etc.) in UHM library's online databases called ScholarSpace and eVols. Note this search is limited in that it is only looking in the catalog record for keywords, not the full-text.
The Dissertations & Theses database is good to check to see if someone has written a history on the ahupuaʻa you are researching. To do this quickly once you are in the database, do a title contains keyword search with your ahupuaʻa name and the word history. If you are not finding results, redo the search without the word history. Doing a broad title search for your ahupuaʻa name also gives you an snapshot on the kinds of research that has been taken place in or about the ahupuaʻa you are researching.
