Free Washington Post Subscription

A year-long subscription to the Washington Post is available to all current faculty, staff, and students at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa.

Possible Uses for the Washington Post

Find current events to help with your essays or speeches.

Search back to see how events were talked about (as far back as the 1850s).

Research who is involved in particular issues.

Find editorials that argue for or against an issue you are writing about.

Overview for Accessing the Washington Post

Signing Up

  1. Visit https://www.washingtonpost.com/subscribe/signup
  2. Enter your hawaii.edu email address
  3. Check your hawaii.edu email and open the email from the Washington Post
  4. Click on the button to create your account
  5. Choose a password and click create an account
  6. Click "Your Name" in the upper right-hand corner
  7. Click "My Post"
  8. Click "Manage Account"
  9. Make sure your email address is Verified. If it is not, click on the "Unverified" link to be sent a verification email.
  10. Once verified, click on the "Subscription & Billing" tab.
  11. Click on the  "Activate free digital access" button.

Your one-year subscription will then begin.

 

If you already have an existing, paid Washington Post subscription using a hawaii.edu email address, you must cancel this subscription before you can activate the UHM campus subscription. You can cancel your personal subscription through your account page or by contacting The Washington Post Help Center online or at enterprisesolutions@washpost.com.

You must renew your personal subscription every year (beginning on the day you created your account).
