The World Trade Organization (WTO) is an organization of 162 member countries that provides a forum and process for negotiating trade agreements, settling trade disputes, and establishing rules for trade. WTO succeeded the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), which was established at the end of World War II. WTO came into existence in 1995.
