OneSearch Mānoa Help: Use 'My Favorites'

About 'My Favorites'

OneSearch Mānoa has a section called My Favorites that allows you to save records, save searches, add labels, and view your search history. To access your My Favorites, first sign in by clicking on the Sign-in button that appears at the top right corner. Then click the push pin icon next to your name. Once you signed in, you can access all the features explained in the tabs on this page. You can find more tips on navigating OneSearch Mānoa at Learning Skills on the Hamilton Library homepage.

'My Favorites' Features

Save Records
Log in with your UH username and password. Click on the push pin icon next to the title to save the records to My Favorites. If you do not sign in, your record will not be saved to your account.

Remove Saved Records
Click on the push pin icon again to remove the record from My Favorites.

Save Searches from Results List
If you are signed in with your UH username and password, you can save your search between sessions.

To save a search from the results list,

Click on the Save Query, which appears above the search results.

Once you click Save search, you will have the opportunity to set an alert for the search by clicking on the notification link that appears above the search box.

Save Searches from Search History in My Favorites
If you are signed in with your UH username and password you can save your search between sessions.

To save a search from your Search History,

Click on the My Favorites button that appears at the top of the OneSearch Mānoa page.

Select the Search History tab below the search box to display your current session's search history.

Click on the push pin button that appears next to the search that you want to save. The search should now appear under the Saved Searches tab as well.

Remove Saved Searches
To remove a saved search, click on the push pin icon located next to the search.

This action will remove the search from My Favorites.

Organize Saved Records
One of the many useful aspects of OneSearch Mānoa lies within its capacity to help you group saved records by using various labels. To access your saved records in My Favorites, sign in with your UH username and password, and then click on the push pin icon link at the top-right corner to get to My Favorites.

In My Favorites, there are tabs for Saved Records, Saved Searches, and Search History under the search box. You can organize records by giving them labels.  To explore the many functions of My Favorites, scroll down to view the various functions or click on the links in the content box on the right-hand side of this page.

Label a Record
Labels are a way to organize saved records into private lists. You may assign multiple labels to a saved record if you want that record to be included into multiple lists.

To assign a label to a record, click on the My Favorites button that appears at the top of the OneSearch Manoa page.

Click on Saved Records tab if it is not already selected.

Click on the "Add New Label" button that appears at the bottom. In the pop up window, type in the name of the label and press the ENTER key.

Your new label should appear under the record's information and in the "Labels" section on the right-hand side of the page:

To remove a label, click on the "Add New Label" button that appears at the bottom of the record.

In the pop up window, click on the "Delete Label" button next to the label.

View Grouped Records
To view records grouped by a particular label,

Click on the My Favorites button that appears in the top of the OneSearch Manoa page.

Click on the Saved Records tab if it is not already selected.

Click on the label's link in the Labels section to view the records with that assigned label.

Create Alert
If you are signed in with your UH username and password, you can receive email alerts when there is an update to a saved search.

To set an alert,

Click on the My Favorites button that appears at the top of the OneSearch Mānoa page.

Select the Saved Searches tab below the search box to display all of your saved searches.

Click on the Set Alert button that appears next to the search to set the alert.

 

If you are setting a new alert, the alert will be sent to the address stored in your personal settings. If necessary, change the email address to which the alert is sent by clicking on the Change email address link that appears above the search box.


Remove Alert
To turn off an alert,

Click on the My Favorites button that appears at the top of the OneSearch Mānoa page.

Select the Saved Searches tab below the search box to display all of your saved searches.

Click on the Clear Alert button that appears next to the search to turn off the alert.
