New to SciFindern?

If this is your first time accessing SciFindern, click here to create a free personal account. Once your account is activated, you must log into SciFindern through the link on the UH Mānoa Library's A-Z databases page to ensure that you are an authorized UH Mānoa user. Please bookmark the page for easy access.

Accessing the database through the UHM link allows users to find full text references through the UHM library.

What happened to the old Scifinder?

Support for Scifinder was discontinued at the end of 2022. Existing Scifinder users can access SciFinderwith the same username and password. You can learn about some of the new functionalities in this webinar from CAS.

What is SciFindern?

SciFindern (or SciFinder-n), a database of chemical and bibliographic information, is an important research tool produced by the Chemical Abstract System (CAS). According to, CAS SciFindern is the latest scientific information solution from CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society. In addition to the reference, substance, reaction and supplier content found in CAS SciFinder®, CAS SciFindern includes relevance-ranked results, citation mapping, sequence searching, retrosynthetic analysis, patent landscape mapping, touch-screen enabled structure drawing and much more—all accessible in a simple, easy-to-use interface.
