Free help with tax returns

VITA Hawaii
VITA provides free tax help at VITA sites if your household income does not exceed $66,000. Offices are located on all islands except Lana`i.

International Student Services - Taxes
ISS offers information about taxes for international students.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide
AARP Foundation's Tax-Aide Program provides free tax preparation help for low-income persons and taxpayers age 50+. You don't have to be an AARP member to use the service.

MyFreeTaxes
The United Way partners with H&R Block and the Internal Revenue Service to provide self-help tax preparation software for individuals or families with a combined household income of less than $66,000 in 2018.

Public libraries in Hawai‘i distribute state and local tax forms and some libraries host AARP Tax-Aide preparation services for seniors.

Forms, instructions, and tax help are available at the State Department of Taxation web site. You can also get them from the State Department of Taxation, Princess Ruth Keelikolani Building, 830 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu.
