Airfields in Hawai'i: Kamuela Airport/Waimea-Kohala Airport

This is a short guide to assist you in finding out information about airports and airfields in Hawai'i.

Background

Bordelon Field was constructed in 1944 for the 2nd Marine Division on property leased from Parker Ranch. It was deactivated and the buildings were sold in 1946. It functioned as the airport for Kamuela until 1953, when the Waimea-Kohala airport opened.
