Transferring books from other campuses
If you need a book that is available from another campus in the University of Hawaii System, you can request to have it sent to the Manoa campus.
First, find the book in Voyager. (If it is not available in Voyager, please see the instructions for getting items that are not in the UH system.)
In the upper right-hand corner, click on Get This Item.
You may be required to log into the library system with your UH username and password. Click on Hold or transfer this item.
You can choose a specific copy of the book if you wish. Choose the UH library to which you would like to have the book sent, and specify a date when you would no longer need the book (this gives the library an idea of how long to search for a book if they have trouble finding it).
After you submit the request, you will be notified by an email to your UH email account when the book is ready for pickup.
Getting items that are not in the UH system
If the book or article you want is not in the UH library system, you have two options:
Both services can be accessed via the University of Hawaii's ILLiad page.
The BorrowItNow system lets you directly request an item yourself without having to wait for the UH library to request it on your behalf. The item will arrive faster than an ILL, but ILL is able to get a wider range of things.
When you click on the ILLiad link, you may be asked to log on with UH username and password. Once you are logged in, choose a service.
For ILL requests, fill in as much information as you can because it will help them locate your item. Don't worry about leaving fields blank. Depending on the nature of the item, not every field will be used.
You will be contacted by email via your UH email account when your item arrives.
