OneSearch does not search all of Hamilton Library's databases, which means that you may want to also search in specialized databases located under the "Databases & More" button on the library's front page.
There are hundreds of databases, often highly specialized, that can offer results beyond what OneSearch provides
When you click on "Expand Results Beyond UHM" on the top left of the results page, additional resources will be listed that Hamilton Library does not subscribe to, but that we can still provide bibliographical information about. This feature is intended to increase the scope of your searching and help you request the items from the Interlibrary Loan Office.
These new items can be recognized by the link to "Click to View Access Options".
If you click on the link to view the record you will see a yellow sign-in box.
Once you have signed in, you will see a link to request the item.
For peer-reviewed journal articles you will see "PDF Scan if Item Not Available at UHM Library (ILL)"
If the item is a book, you will see "Request Physical Item Not Available at UH Libraries (ILL)"
The link will send you to the request page at the Interlibrary Loan Office.
You can just click the "Submit" button and the ILL Office will attempt to request the item for you.
UHM Library Interlibrary Loan services are available to University of Hawaii at Mānoa students, faculty, staff, and affiliates in support of their academic and university related research activities when the materials are NOT available at the UH Mānoa Libraries.
More information on the Interlibrary Loan Office is available here.
The service is free and requests can be made as often as you need in order to support your research and learning.
