Setting up Alerts

Alerts are automated email notifications you create to deliver new content as it becomes available in Proquest.

  • Search Alerts-notify you when new documents that match your search are available.
  • Publication Alerts-notify you when new issues of a selected publication are available.

Instructions on setting up an Alert are provided in this tutorial.

Note:  While it is not necessary to open a My Research account to utilize the Alert feature, not doing so will prevent you from modifying the search after it is created.

Saving your Research

Set up a My Research account when using any Proquest database including ASFA. With the My Research account you can:

  • save documents and searches
  • set up Alerts and RSS feeds
  • tag and share your research with other Proquest users
  • customize your interface and search settings
  • connect My Research to your Refworks account and add items with a single click

My Research is located at the top right hand of the search screen.

Follow these instructions to set up your free My Research account in ProQuest.


  1. Click the My Research link at the top right hand of the screen.
  2. Click the Create a My Research account  link.
  3. Complete the fields of the Create a My Reseach account screen.
  4. You will be logged into your My Research account .
