The President of the United States is the highest office in the country. The president is the chief executive of the United States, its chief diplomat, commander in chief of the military, head of state, and sets economic policy. Presidential elections are held every four years.

Presidential directives are not considered public documents and they are not published in the compilations of presidential documents. Information about where to find them is available from the Library of Congress.
