COVID Update, October 8, 2021
UH patrons can now select where they want to pick up circulating copies of Hawaiian and Pacific Collection items in OneSearch. To do so, when patrons select "Request: Physical Item," they then need to select either "UH Mānoa HP" or "UH Mānoa Hamilton Library" under the "Pickup Location" field. "UH Mānoa HP" items can be picked up from the Hawaiian and Pacific Collections circulation counter, on the 5th floor of Hamilton Library, during regular H&P Collections hours (currently Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) "UH Mānoa Hamilton Library" items will be available for pick up from Hamilton Library's first floor circulation counter, during all hours the main library building is open. (These hours can be found on the Library's website.) Note that this service is only available for Hawaiian and Pacific materials that can be physically checked out of the library; materials that are designated as "room use only" will continue to be held for patrons at the 5th floor circulation counter, and will be available for use in the H&P Collections reading room, 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. In all cases, patrons will continue to receive an email when the item is available for pick up. Paging instructions can be found on this page on our HP department website.

COVID UPDATE, June 7, 2021
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic we have benefited from HathiTrust's Extended Temporary Access Service (https://hathitrust.org). This services gave us digital access to about 40% of our print collection while the book stacks were closed.
With the start of Fall Semester 2021 on August 23, the UH Manoa Library will reopen the books stacks to browsing and borrowing. The HathiTrust Extended Temporary Access will end on August 22, 2021. The HathiTrust collection of 7 million public domain volumes will still be available.
If you were planning on using a volume from HathiTrust as a text for a class or for Course Reserves you will need to make other arrangements. Contact your liaison librarian to see if an alternate e-copy of the text is available.
